The DFT (Deep Flow Technique) is a similar method to that of NFT but there are certain differences involved.

Both NFT and DFT are techniques of the Water Culture method. The techniques are known as water culture because they require 24 hours flow of nutrient water in the tube, or else the plants may dry out. 

In NFT the level of flowing water in the tube is less compared to that of DFT. That’s the reason why DFT’s are more efficient than NFT’s. The roots of the plants are more exposed to water in DFT than in NFT.

DFT’s are usually placed one above the other, which makes even the vertical space to get used. On the other hand, NFT’s are kept adjacent to each other.
